Shintarō Arima’s manga series, Kaiju Kamuy, has come to an end. The series, which began serialization in Weekly Young Magazine issue 32/2024, captivated readers with its unique blend of kaiju action and pilot science fiction.
What is Kaiju Kamuy About?
Kaiju Kamuy is set in a Japan ravaged by giant monster attacks. Traditional weapons prove ineffective against these colossal threats, leading humanity to develop a desperate countermeasure: giant biological weapons known as “Kamuy”. The story follows ace pilot Yamato Shidou, who is tasked with piloting one of these Kamuy, pitting monster against monster in a battle for survival.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the Kaiju Kamuy manga series for English release. Volume 1 is scheduled to be printed in English in September 2025 and will be available in single volume editions and as an e-book.
