Crunchyroll is set to stream the TV anime series Kamitsubaki City Under Construction in July 2025. This announcement coincides with KAMITSUBAKI CITY UNDER CONSTRUCTION’s presence at Anime Central in Chicago.

The anime is scheduled for release in July 2025. It will be available in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and India.
Synopsis
Seven years after a major disaster devastated humanity, Kamitsubaki City emerges as a beacon of science and prosperity. However, lurking in the shadows are Tesseractor, monsters born from human darkness. The only ones who can stand against them are the Witchling, five girls with magical voices. They fight to protect the city and heal a broken world with every note they sing.
Production Details
Kamitsubaki City Under Construction is directed and written by Koudai Kakimoto, known for his work on BanG Dream!. PALOW., who has contributed designs and visuals for artists affiliated with KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO, is in charge of character designs. Animation production is handled by SMDE. Souki Tsukishima is the worldview designer and supervising scenario writer, with SINKA ANIMATION PROJECT producing. The VTuber unit V.W.P. (Virtual Witch Phenomenon) performs the theme song. The anime is a CGI series produced by Shogakukan Music & Digital Entertainment.

Multimedia Project
The anime is based on the multimedia project by Kamitsubaki Studio, which includes video games and music videos.
Advance Screenings and Novelization
An advance theatrical edition, Kamitsubaki City Under Construction. Majo no Musume -Witchling-, will be screened for a limited two-week period starting on June 13, prior to the TV premiere. Additionally, an official novelization of the anime, Kamitsubaki City Under Construction. NOVELIZED, will be released from KADOKAWA’s MF Bunko J imprint on May 23.
