Japanese singer Kaya and the special unit Utahime Dream Allstars have been tapped to perform the opening and ending theme songs, respectively, for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of A Tale of the Secret Saint (Tensei Shita Daiseijo wa, Seijo de Aru Koto o Hitakakusu), set to premiere in April 2026. This announcement builds anticipation for the fantasy series, which will feature “Flare of Soul” as its opening and “STELLAR” as its closing track.
Kaya’s “Flare of Soul” Ignites the Opening
The opening theme, titled “Flare of Soul,” will be performed by Kaya. Kaya, who made her major debut in January 2022 and has also been known as HiREN in the multimedia project Utahime Dream, expressed her sentiments regarding the song. She stated that “Flare of Soul” aims to encapsulate the protagonist Fia’s straight, gentle, and strong heart, even as she confronts and resists her predetermined fate. Kaya infused the song with the spirit of choosing one’s own path, moving forward despite doubts and pain, and seizing answers guided by the heart rather than pure reason. She hopes the song will resonate with viewers and offer a gentle push forward alongside the anime.
Utahime Dream Allstars’ “STELLAR” Closes Out Episodes
The ending theme song, “STELLAR,” will be performed by Utahime Dream Allstars, a special unit comprising all the cast members from the Utahime Dream project. Rena Yamasaki, who voices Ibuki Yumesaki within the Utahime Dream project, shared her delight at the opportunity for the Allstars to perform the ending theme. Yamasaki highlighted how the lyrics deeply connect with the anime’s narrative, capturing a unique vibe for the Utahime Dream project. She expressed her sincere hope that many people will listen to the powerfully sung track.
About A Tale of the Secret Saint Anime
The anime adaptation of A Tale of the Secret Saint is based on the popular light novel series written by Touya and illustrated by chibi. It tells the story of Fia, a girl born into a family of knights who aspires to follow in their footsteps. However, a near-death experience awakens memories and powers from her past life as a “Great Saint.” Recalling her brutal death in that previous life at the hands of the Demon King’s right-hand man, Fia resolves to conceal her Saint abilities and live as a knight to avoid a similar tragic fate. Despite her resolve, her compassionate nature often leads her to use her powers to help those in need, creating a conflict in her quest to keep her identity hidden.
The series is produced by Felix Film and directed by Tomoe Makino, with Naoki Murata as assistant director, Deko Akao handling series composition, Satomi Kurita designing the characters, and Kenichiro Suehiro composing the music. The anime is scheduled to premiere in April 2026.
