Fumi Itō’s manga adaptation of Takuma Sakurai’s light novel series, Nanoka no Yoru o Nukedashite (also known as Kimi no Nemureru Kaii no Kōsha), is set to conclude soon. The announcement was made by the official X (formerly Twitter) account for Square Enix’s Gangan Online platform on Monday, August 18, 2025.
The Journey of Kimi no Nemureru Kaii no Kōsha
The manga, which translates to “Mysteries of the School Building Where You Sleep,” launched on Square Enix’s Gangan Online platform in October 2023. It is an adaptation of the Nanoka no Yoru o Nukedashite light novel series written by Takuma Sakurai. The story follows Ren Nakazato, a new high school student, who visits an old school building to explore the “Top Exploration Club,” rumored to investigate the school’s seven wonders. Trapped with three other first-year students, they discover a mysterious message, hinting at the supernatural mysteries they will encounter.
Publication Details
Square Enix has already shipped the first compiled book volume of the manga on June 12, 2025, and the second volume is scheduled for release on September 11, 2025. The original light novel by Takuma Sakurai, Nanoka no Yoru o Nukedashite, was published by Kodansha in November 2022.
Author’s Other Works
Takuma Sakurai is also known for the Butareba: The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig (Buta no Liver wa Kanetsu Shiro) novel series. This series began in March 2020 after winning the gold prize in the 26th Dengeki Novel Prize in 2019. Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko imprint publishes these novels, and an ongoing manga adaptation by Minami launched in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maoh magazine in August 2020. J-Novel Club is releasing both the Butareba novel and manga series in English. The Butareba novels also inspired a television anime that premiered in October 2023, with its final episode airing in February 2024 after a delay.
The impending conclusion of Kimi no Nemureru Kaii no Kōsha will bring to a close this adaptation for fans following its mysteries and supernatural elements.
