The highly anticipated sixth series of the Kingdom anime has announced five new additions to its cast and confirmed an October 4 premiere in Japan. The new season will begin the fierce battle between the states of Qin and Zhao, with protagonist Xin taking up Wang Yi’s spear to charge into the fray.
New Voices Join the Qin Military Ranks
The latest cast revelations introduce key figures within the Qin military, expanding the ensemble for the upcoming conflict. The newly announced voice actors and their respective roles are:
- Koji Takeda as Ako
- Dai Matsumoto as Mako
- Shinnosuke Tachibana as Akakin
- Yoshino Nanjo as Kitari
- Masaaki Mizunaka as Katari
These five join previously announced cast members for the Qin military’s Hi Shin unit: Sho Komura as Sou Jin, Daichi Hayashi as Sou Tan, and Yu Hayashi as Kan To.

The sixth season is slated to debut on October 4, airing on NHK General at 24:10 JST (effectively, October 5 at 12:10 a.m. JST). Fans can expect the series to delve deeper into the Warring States period of China, as depicted in Yasuhisa Hara’s acclaimed manga.
Returning Production Team and Theme Songs
The creative team behind the Kingdom anime largely remains consistent for the sixth installment, ensuring a familiar visual and narrative style. Kenichi Imaizumi returns as director, with Noboru Takagi handling series scripts and Hisashi Abe serving as character designer. The music composition will once again be handled by Hiroyuki Sawano and KOHTA YAMAMOTO. Animation production is a collaborative effort between studios Pierrot and St.Signpost.
In terms of music, Ikimono-gakari is set to perform the opening theme song titled “Ikite, Sansan” (Live, Brilliantly), while Sora Tomonari will contribute the ending theme song, “Hōkō” (Roar).

The Kingdom anime is based on Yasuhisa Hara’s historical manga, which chronicles the journey of Xin, a war orphan with the ambition of becoming a great general, and his alliance with Ying Zheng, who seeks to unify China during the tumultuous Warring States period (475–221 BCE). The manga has achieved significant success, with over 110 million copies in circulation.
