Singer and voice actress Kiyono Yasuno has been officially announced as the performer of the opening theme song for the upcoming second season of the Let This Grieving Soul Retire! (Nageki no Bōrei wa Intai Shitai: Saijaku Hunter ni Yoru Saikyō Party Ikusei-jutsu) anime. The song, titled “Algorithm,” will debut when the season premieres in October 2025.
Anticipation Builds for Season 2 Premiere
The second season of Let This Grieving Soul Retire! is highly anticipated by fans, with its premiere scheduled for October 2025. A new super teaser trailer released earlier this year, featuring rough key frames, confirmed the October debut for what is effectively the anime’s second cour. The first season of the anime originally aired from October to December 2024.
The new season will be broadcast on several Japanese channels, including MBS, Tokyo MX, BS NTV, Sun TV, and AT-X. Overseas, the first season was streamed by Crunchyroll, Muse Asia, and Bilibili, and it is expected that the second season will also be available on these platforms.
Kiyono Yasuno’s Contribution and i☆Ris for Ending Theme
Kiyono Yasuno, known for her diverse roles as both a voice actress and singer, will lend her talents to the opening theme, “Algorithm.” Yasuno has previously performed theme songs for various anime, including “Onnaji Kimochi.” for Restaurant to Another World 2 and “Rocket Beat” for Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card.
In addition to Yasuno’s opening theme, the idol group i☆Ris will perform the ending theme song for the second season, titled “Yume no Hitokakera” (Fragment of a Dream).
The World of Let This Grieving Soul Retire!
The Let This Grieving Soul Retire! anime adapts the light novel series by Tsukikage and Chyko. J-Novel Club publishes the novels in English and describes the story as taking place in a “golden age for treasure hunters.” The narrative follows Krai and his childhood friends who aspired to be the greatest treasure hunters. However, Krai quickly realizes he isn’t suited for the dangerous profession, leading to his desire to retire despite growing expectations.
The main cast returning for the second season includes Kenshō Ono as Krai Andrey, Miyu Kubota as Tino Shade, Haruka Shiraishi as Lapis Fulgor, Yū Serizawa as Kris Argent, Satomi Amano as Chloe Welter, and Hana Hishikawa as Éclair Gladis. The first season was directed by Masahiro Takata at Zero-G, who also served as the sound director.
