The upcoming anime adaptation of Umikaze Minamino’s light novel series, “Kunon the Sorcerer Can See” (Majutsu-shi Kunon wa Mieteiru), has released its main promotional video, revealed its ending theme artist, and announced an early streaming debut for its second episode. The fantasy adventure is set to premiere on January 4, 2026.
The new main promotional video offers a glimpse into the magical world of Kunon Gurion, a blind genius sorcerer striving to create eyes through magic. It also previews the opening theme song, “Rakenaria no Yume” (Dream of Rakenaria), performed by Isekaijoucho.
Kohta Yamamoto to Perform Ending Theme
The ending theme for “Kunon the Sorcerer Can See” will be “Story feat. katagiri,” performed by Kohta Yamamoto. Yamamoto’s contribution is expected to complement the anime’s narrative, which follows Kunon’s unique magical quest.
Early Streaming for Second Episode Announced
Fans eager to dive deeper into Kunon’s journey will have the opportunity to watch the first two episodes early. Both episodes are scheduled for an advance premiere on January 4, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. JST on d Anime Store and ABEMA. The anime’s official broadcast schedule begins with the first episode premiering on Tokyo MX at the same time, followed by BS Asahi on January 5 and WOWOW on January 6. Crunchyroll has also licensed the series for streaming as it airs.
Key Staff and Cast Bring the World to Life
Platinum Vision is producing the anime, with Hideaki Ohba directing the series. Yuki Enatsu is responsible for the series composition, while Yoko Sato and Toshimitsu Kobayashi are handling character designs. Shunsuke Takizawa is composing the music for the series.

The “Kunon the Sorcerer Can See” light novel series, written by Umikaze Minamino and illustrated by Laruha, began serialization in August 2021 on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website. Yen Press publishes an official English version of the novels, which tell the story of a blind prodigy who defies common sense in his pursuit of creating eyes through water magic.
