About “Let’s Play” Anime Series
The “Let’s Play” anime adapts Leeanne M. Krecic’s original webcomic, which gained a significant following on WEBTOON with three seasons. The story centers on Samara “Sam” Young, a Los Angeles-based developer on the cusp of realizing her dreams with her first video game, “Ruminate.” However, her aspirations hit a snag when a popular streamer delivers a harsh review of her game. Adding to her woes, Sam discovers that the critical streamer is none other than her new next-door neighbor.
The anime, animated by studio OLM, is directed by Daiki Tomiyasu (“Pokémon Journeys: The Series”). Aya Matsui (“Tamagotchi!”) is responsible for the series composition, with character designs by Saki Ebisawa, based on Ebimo’s original character concepts, and music composed by Conisch (“Recovery of an MMO Junkie”). The Japanese version of the anime premiered on Fuji TV’s +Ultra programming block on October 1, 2025. Toshinobu Kubota performs both the opening theme song “1, 2, Play” and the ending theme song “Left & Right.”
Crunchyroll is streaming both the English dub and subbed versions of “Let’s Play” across various regions, including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, India, and Southeast Asia. The series is described as a comedic, romantic, and relatable narrative exploring themes of gaming, internet culture, and social anxiety.
