The official X/Twitter account for the Chained Soldier (Mato Seihei no Slave) television anime has announced that Maaya Uchida will perform the second ending theme song for the upcoming second season, titled “LOVE LOVE Beam.” This revelation adds to the anticipation for the anime’s return, which is scheduled to premiere on January 8.
Maaya Uchida’s Contribution to Chained Soldier 2
Maaya Uchida, who also lends her voice to the character Tenka Izumo in the series, will perform “LOVE LOVE Beam” as the second ending theme for Chained Soldier Season 2. Uchida previously performed the first season’s ending theme song, “CHA∞IN.” Her continued involvement is a welcome announcement for fans of the franchise and her musical work.

Alongside Uchida’s new ending theme, previous announcements confirmed that Akari Kitō will perform the opening theme song titled “Hikari yo, Boku ni.” Kitō also stars in the anime as the voice of Kyōka Uzen. Furthermore, Kana Hanazawa is performing the first ending theme song for the second season, “Cipher Cipher,” which was arranged by Polkadot Stingray.

Chained Soldier Season 2 is set to begin airing on January 8. Japanese viewers can catch the premiere on Tokyo MX, BS Asahi, MBS, and AT-X. The second season was initially revealed when the first season concluded in March 2024.

The upcoming season sees a shift in its production team. Masafumi Tamura, known for directing The World’s Finest Assassin and Ange Vierge, is now directing Chained Soldier Season 2. Animation production is handled by a new collaboration between studios Passione and Hayabusa Film. Keiya Nakano is taking over as the character designer for the new season. These changes aim to bring a fresh perspective to the anime’s visual style and direction.

The second season will feature a blend of returning and new voice cast members. In addition to Maaya Uchida as Tenka Izumo and Akari Kitō as Kyōka Uzen, new cast members include Kana Hanazawa as Ren Yamashiro, Kana Ichinose as Konomi Tatara, Fairouz Ai as Mira Kamiunten, Manaka Iwami as Bell Tsukiyono, Fūka Izumi as Yakumo Ezo, and Yukana as Fubuki Azuma.

Chained Soldier, known in Japan as Mato Seihei no Slave (Slave of the Magic Capital’s Elite Troops), is based on the manga written by Takahiro and illustrated by Yōhei Takemura. The story centers on a dimension known as Mato, from which dangerous monsters called Yomotsu Shuuki emerge. Women who consume “peaches” from Mato gain unique abilities and form the Anti-demon Corps to combat these threats. The protagonist, Yuuki Wakura, a high school boy, finds himself entangled with the Seventh Unit of the Anti-demon Corps and becomes a “slave” to their chief, Kyouka Uzen, to lend his unique power in the fight. The first season of the anime premiered in January 2024.
