Manga Planet has announced the print release of Hidebu Takahashi’s Boys’ Love (BL) manga series, Psychedelia, under its futekiya imprint. Pre-orders for the physical edition are now open as of October 2nd, 2025, via Kinokuniya USA’s online store, with an early-bird sale scheduled for New York Comic Con 2025.
Exclusive Early Access and Wider Distribution
The initial print run of Psychedelia will be exclusively available through Kinokuniya USA. Fans can secure their copies through pre-orders on Kinokuniya USA’s online platform or purchase them directly at the Kinokuniya Bookstore booth (#3301) during New York Comic Con 2025, which runs from October 9th to 12th. Following this exclusive period, Manga Planet plans to make Psychedelia available to bookstores outside the United States, allowing for broader international distribution.
Shifting Focus: From Digital to Print
This move marks a significant strategic shift for Manga Planet. The company recently announced the closure of its digital service on March 31, 2026, citing “various circumstances like recent restrictions from payment processors and the changing online landscape.” This transition to prioritizing print releases through its Manga Planet and futekiya imprints is a direct response to these challenges. Issues with payment method providers, such as Stripe suspending and banning Manga Planet’s account due to R18 (Restricted 18+) content, have accelerated this pivot.
About Psychedelia by Hidebu Takahashi
Psychedelia is a Boys’ Love title that delves into a unique “out-of-body” experience between its two main characters. The story follows Shohei “Mizo” Mizoshiri, a junior detective, who harbors unexpressed feelings for his senior, Toranosuke Hino. When an investigation takes a turn for the worse, leaving Hino in a coma and Mizo suspended, Mizo grapples with immense guilt. His world is then upended when he discovers Hino’s living spirit has appeared to him.
Hidebu Takahashi originally debuted Psychedelia in .Bloom in May 2021, concluding the series in March 2022. The single compiled volume was shipped in Japan in April 2022. Manga Planet previously released the manga digitally in English. The series is known for blending mystery, psychological, and supernatural elements with its Boys’ Love narrative.
