Dive into New Worlds: Supervillain Boy and Code of Misconduct Arrive
The digital manga platform, operated by Square Enix, continues to grow its diverse catalog. “Supervillain Boy” and “Code of Misconduct” represent two distinct additions that cater to different reader preferences.
Supervillain Boy: A New Take on Anti-Hero Ambition
Koume Fujichika’s “Supervillain Boy” launched on Manga UP! Global on Wednesday, December 25th. This manga introduces a protagonist disillusioned with the world, perceiving heroes as performative and villains as petty. Yearning for change, the boy endeavors to transform himself and the world by embracing the path of an aloof, noble, and strong “Supervillain.” Fujichika, also known for “The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses,” originally launched “Supervillain Boy” on Square Enix’s Japanese Manga UP! service in December 2024.
Code of Misconduct: A High School BL Romance
Released on December 25th, “Code of Misconduct” by atro offers a “cat-and-mouse BL romance” set in a high school. The story follows 26-year-old Imari Shuuya, a high school teacher committed to the school’s strict “no in-school romance” policy. His convictions are challenged when the school’s new and strikingly handsome 22-year-old nurse, Yotsumi Rio, begins relentlessly pursuing him. This completed manga by atro was originally launched on Manga UP! and Gangan Online in 2024.

About Manga UP! Global
Manga UP! is Square Enix’s official digital comic reading application, launched internationally in English in July 2022. The platform aims to provide global readers with quick access to a vast library of manga, including both established hits and new serializations, often featuring simultaneous releases with Japanese installments. Initially, the global version faced criticism regarding its censorship practices and monetization model, but Square Enix has since addressed these concerns, replacing intrusive black bars with less-intrusive censorship methods. The service hosts over 100 series, including many original works and adaptations of other media.
