Manga UP! Global has announced the addition of two new manga titles to its English-language digital catalog: Gojiai’s KasuRich and Makoto Morishita’s Im: Great Priest Imhotep. KasuRich became available on Sunday, August 24, 2025, while Im: Great Priest Imhotep is slated for release on Monday, August 25, 2025. These additions further diversify the platform’s offering, bringing both a newer Boys Love series and a completed shōnen action title to a global audience.
KasuRich: A Dive into Obsession and Fandom
Gojiai’s KasuRich joins Manga UP! Global’s lineup as a unique Boys Love (BL) story exploring a twisted, codependent bond between a streamer and a fan. The manga originally launched on Square Enix’s Gangan pixiv website on December 7.
Plot and Themes of KasuRich
The narrative centers on Mikado Kasuga, a university student who lives for his favorite streamer, Zurich, whose real name is Rihito Nakahara. Mikado is convinced he uniquely understands Zurich, and his excitement leads him to an event to meet his idol in person. However, their meeting takes an unexpected turn, revealing that Zurich shares a peculiar and mutual attachment to Mikado. The series is categorized under Romance, Suspense, and LGBTQ+ genres, and Manga UP! Global’s listing includes content warnings for self-harm/suicide and sexual themes, indicating the mature nature of its exploration of obsessive relationships.
Im: Great Priest Imhotep: Ancient Egypt Meets Modern Japan
For fans of action and fantasy, Manga UP! Global is adding Makoto Morishita’s Im: Great Priest Imhotep. This completed series, which ran from 2015 to 2018 in Japan, offers a blend of shōnen, comedy, action, and drama.
The Story of Imhotep and the Magai
The manga transports readers across time and space as the newly resurrected Great Priest Imhotep, from the sands of ancient Egypt, finds himself in modern Japan. His mission is to hunt down the Magai, malevolent beings that impersonate gods and prey on mortals.
Imhotep’s journey begins when he encounters Hinome, a schoolgirl who has been afflicted by a Magai for eight years. Imhotep successfully frees her from the entity, but this initial encounter intertwines their fates. He declares Hinome’s dark house his new “palace” and sets up residence there, much to the delight of Hinome’s antiquarian father, who is fascinated by all things ancient. Imhotep, initially without knowledge of the modern world, often creates comical situations. He is later joined by a small Anubis god sent to monitor him, whom he reluctantly takes on as an apprentice.
The series deepens as Imhotep confronts his past; it is revealed that he inadvertently brought the Magai into the world by attempting to save his friend, Prince Djoser, from being sacrificed. This act opened the gate to the underworld, unleashing the Magai. Imhotep’s remorse for his actions, and his goal to redeem himself and save his friend, become central to the overarching plot.
