The highly anticipated anime film Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to be Loved has recently unveiled its non-credit opening, additional cast members, and a new visual ahead of its Japanese premiere on June 27, 2025. Crunchyroll has acquired the worldwide theatrical rights for the film, excluding Asia, and will screen it in North America with Japanese audio and English subtitles.
Non-Credit Opening and Theme Song
The film’s official website released the non-credit opening, featuring the theme song “Namida no Parade” (Parade of Tears) performed by fhána. This marks a continuation of fhána’s involvement with the Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid series, as they also performed theme songs for the television seasons.

A new key visual for the film was also revealed, offering a glimpse into the movie’s aesthetic. Kyoto Animation, the studio behind the popular anime series, is producing the film. Tatsuya Ishihara, who directed Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S, is helming the film, with Yuka Yamada providing the script and Miku Kadowaki handling character design and serving as chief animation director. The late Yasuhiro Takemoto is credited as “series director.” The film’s narrative centers around Kanna Kamui being asked by her father, Kimun Kamui, to return to the Dragon World to rectify a past mistake, leading to a potential conflict between Chaos and Harmony forces.
