Kyoto Animation produced the film, with Tatsuya Ishihara directing. The movie features a new storyline that takes place after the events of the TV anime series, focusing on Kanna as she confronts a significant choice regarding her birth family of dragons and her cherished human family. The narrative delves into a brewing conflict between Chaos and Harmony, with Kanna’s father, Kimun Kamui, attempting to force her return to the Dragon World.

Additional and Returning Voice Cast

The film’s opening theme song, “Namida no Parade” (Parade of Tears), is performed by fhána. The ending theme song, “Bokutachi no Hibi” (Days of Us), is sung by Sachiko Kobayashi, and an insert song titled “Negaigoto” (Wish) is performed by kotringo.
Crunchyroll has acquired the worldwide theatrical rights to the film, excluding Asia, and plans to screen the movie in North America with Japanese audio and English subtitles. The film also features 4DX and MX4D screenings in Japan, offering an immersive viewing experience.
