The official website for the anime adaptation of Yasuhisa Hara’s Kingdom manga has unveiled three additional cast members for its highly anticipated sixth series, set to premiere in October. These new additions will portray members of the Hi Shin (Fei Xin) Unit within the Qin military.
The newly announced cast members and their roles are:
- Shō Komura as Sou Jin
- Daichi Hayashi as Sou Tan
- Yuu Hayashi as Kan To
The sixth season of the Kingdom anime will focus on the impending full-scale war between the Qin and Zhao armies, with protagonist Xin taking up Wang Yi’s spear and charging into battle.
Returning staff members for the series include director Kenichi Imaizumi, scriptwriter Noboru Takagi, and character designer Hisashi Abe, with animation handled by Studio Pierrot and St.Signpost. Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto are once again composing the music. Ikimono-gakari will perform the opening theme song “Ikite, Sansan” (Live, Brilliantly), and Sora Tomonari will perform the ending theme song “Hōkō” (Roar).
The fifth season of the anime concluded in March 2024, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. The Kingdom manga, which centers on the slave boy Xin’s dream of becoming a great general for the state of Qin, has been serialized since 2006 and has over 110 million copies in circulation.
