The highly anticipated new anime adaptation of Tsukasa Hōjō’s classic manga, Cat’s Eye, has revealed more voice cast members and a captivating new trailer for its second half, which is set to begin streaming on December 26, 2025. The series, exclusively available on Disney+ (under the “Star” brand in Japan and Hulu/Hulu on Disney+ in the US), premiered its first six episodes in September, with the concluding six episodes scheduled to run weekly until January 30, 2026.
New Voices Join the Hunt for Lost Art
The latest announcement introduces two significant additions to the voice cast, who will play pivotal roles in the upcoming episodes. Kenyu Horiuchi joins as Shin Kaibara, described as the powerful head of the Toyo Foundation and a key figure in the latter half of the story. Also, Ryotaro Okiayu will lend his voice to Michael Heinz, the long-missing father of the Kisugi sisters, whose stolen art collection is at the heart of the “Cat’s Eye” phantom thief operations.
These new cast members build on an already established roster, which includes Mikako Komatsu as Hitomi Kisugi, Ami Koshimizu as Rui Kisugi, and Yumiri Hanamori as Ai Kisugi, the three titular art-thief sisters. Takuya Satō portrays Detective Toshio Utsumi, Hitomi’s unsuspecting fiancé, who is relentlessly pursuing the Cat’s Eye gang. Earlier additions to the cast for characters making their anime debut included Katsuyuki Konishi as Masato Kamiya, a freelance writer, and Yōko Hikasa as Mitsuko Asatani, a detective. Notably, Masato Kamiya is said to be the inspiration for Ryo Saeba, the protagonist of Hōjō’s other renowned work, City Hunter.
Second Half Trailer Intensifies the Mystery and Action
The new trailer for the second half of the series offers a glimpse into the heightened stakes and emotional depth awaiting viewers. It opens with Hitomi’s determined declaration: “Let’s take everything back. Dad’s paintings scattered all over the world,” underscoring the sisters’ core motivation. The preview dynamically showcases their unwavering search for their missing father, their commitment to their double lives as phantom thieves, and their resolve to forge their own destinies.
The trailer also highlights the escalating cat-and-mouse game between the Kisugi sisters and Detective Toshio, teasing moments of intense conflict and emotional turmoil for Hitomi, who struggles with her dual identity. The chilling introduction of Shin Kaibara, asserting “The seeds have been sown, Cat’s Eye,” signals the onset of the sisters’ greatest challenge yet.
