The Hokuto Brothers Take Shape with New Voice Actors
Fans now have a clearer picture of the iconic characters who will populate the post-apocalyptic world of Fist of the North Star. The newly announced voice actors bring considerable talent to these pivotal roles:
Wataru Takagi as Jagi
Wataru Takagi, known for his roles as Okuyasu Nijimura in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable and Onizuka in Great Teacher Onizuka, will lend his voice to the deceptive and manipulative Jagi, one of Kenshiro’s elder brothers. Takagi expressed his honor in playing Jagi in the legendary anime’s revival, aiming to inherit the character’s surging power and emotional journey.
Tsuguo Mogami as Toki
The pacifist yet formidable brother Toki will be voiced by Tsuguo Mogami, recognized for his work as Beruga in The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World and Keith Shadis in Attack on Titan. Mogami shared a heartfelt anecdote about reporting his casting to the late Kenji Utsumi, feeling as though the former chairman approved of his role.
Taiten Kusunoki as Raoh
The powerful “King of Fists,” Raoh, will be portrayed by Taiten Kusunoki, whose credits include Genichiro Sanada in The Prince of Tennis and Leonard Burns in Fire Force. Kusunoki’s casting as the formidable antagonist completes the main lineup of the Hokuto four brothers, promising an epic clash.

Celebrating 40 Years with a Modern Adaptation
The new FIST OF THE NORTH STAR: HOKUTO NO KEN anime is a significant part of the manga’s 40th-anniversary project, which was initially announced in September 2023. Produced by Warner Bros. Japan, the adaptation aims to faithfully bring the original work to life using the latest animation technology, though it will incorporate heavy use of CGI. The original manga, created by Buronson (story) and Tetsuo Hara (art), was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 1983 to 1988 and has sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
Beyond the Main Series: A New Spin-off Anime
In addition to the main series, a short anime spin-off titled Elegy for the Henchmen: Fist of the North Star is also set to broadcast and stream in January 2026. This comedic spin-off, based on a gag manga, will follow the struggles of Nobu, a member of the Ken-Oh Army, as he tries to survive in a dangerous environment.
The renewed interest and significant production investment into the Fist of the North Star franchise underscores its enduring legacy and appeal to a new generation of anime viewers.
