The highly anticipated television anime adaptation of Kujira Tokiwa and Yuunagi’s light novel series, “The Holy Grail of Eris” (Erisu no Seihai), has officially revealed its second promotional video, confirming a January 2026 debut. The announcement was made at Anime Expo on Saturday, further solidifying the release window for fans eagerly awaiting the fantasy-suspense drama. In Japan, the series is slated to air on TBS and its affiliated stations, as well as on BS11.
The Premise of “The Holy Grail of Eris”
“The Holy Grail of Eris” is a fantasy and suspense series that delves into themes of injustice, revenge, and uncovering hidden truths. The story centers on Constance “Connie” Grail, a young noblewoman known primarily for her sincerity. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she is falsely accused of a crime and loses her fiancé. In her despair, Connie encounters the ghost of Scarlett Castiel, an infamous noblewoman executed ten years prior for seemingly wicked deeds, widely regarded as the “most notorious villainess of her time.”
Scarlett, with her undeniable charisma and intelligence, possesses Connie’s body, swiftly turning the tables on her tormentors and clearing Connie’s name. In return for this intervention, Scarlett demands Connie’s help in investigating the true circumstances surrounding her own untimely death and a conspiracy that continues to unfold. As Connie delves deeper, engaging in undercover operations, a fake engagement, and confrontations with powerful figures, she begins to uncover a far-reaching conspiracy.
