What is “Nobody’s Boy Remi” About?
Based on Hector Malot’s 1878 French novel “Sans Famille” (Without Family), “Nobody’s Boy Remi” tells the story of a young boy’s hardships and resilience. As AnimEigo describes:
Remi lives happily with his mother in the French countryside, but his life takes a dramatic turn when his father returns and reveals that Remi is adopted. Sold to a street performer named Vitalis, Remi is thrust into a life of travel and hardship with Vitalis’s performing animals. Remi faces numerous misfortunes as he journeys across the country.
“Ruined Childhood” Imprint
This release marks the inaugural title under AnimEigo’s new “Ruined Childhood” imprint, which aims to highlight darker, emotionally complex depictions of youth. Prepare for a viewing experience that is equal parts shocking, tragic, and joyous.
