The Story of a Self-Proclaimed Villainess
Observation Records of My Fiancée: The Misadventures of a Self-Proclaimed Villainess follows Prince Cecil, a prodigy who finds his life uneventful until his engagement to Bertia, the chancellor’s daughter. Bertia, with memories of a past life, declares herself the “villainess” of an otome game and aims to fulfill her role to annul their engagement. Her continuous, yet often misguided, attempts at villainy and Cecil’s keen observations form the core of this romantic comedy.
The light novel series, written by Shiki and illustrated by Wan Hachipisu, began serialization online before being published by Alphapolis. An English version of the light novels is published digitally by Hanashi Media. The story has also inspired a manga adaptation by Natsume Hasumi.
