OceanVeil has announced that it has begun streaming the English dub for the anime series The Perfect Prince Loves Me, the Side Character?!, with the first episode premiering on July 26. New English dubbed episodes will be released every Saturday. The streaming platform also unveiled the full English voice cast and staff for the production.
English Dub Cast and Staff Revealed
The main English dub cast for The Perfect Prince Loves Me, the Side Character?! includes Jason Daryl-Hall as Loneal, Darragh Ó Broin as Alec, Allanah Fitzgerald as Lily, Robyn McConnell as Zeno, Chris Harris-Beechey as Noah, and Rhys Drakins as the Hooded Man.
The English dub is directed by Kevin Frane, with Chloe Eves serving as the assistant director. Production assistants for the project include Amanda Parker and Shane Tay. Steve “Warky” Nunez is the ADR Engineer. The QA team consists of Brian Rollins, Sean Tay, Paul Davey, and Shane Tay. Subtitles are handled by Danny Miller and L.L., with Jonathan Hinga managing the timing. P.M. Seymour is responsible for the adaptation, and Kevin Frane also serves as the localization supervisor.
Plot Synopsis of ‘The Perfect Prince Loves Me, the Side Character?!’
The story of The Perfect Prince Loves Me, the Side Character?! centers on Loneal, a character who finds himself reincarnated into the world of a novel. In his previous life, Loneal was a fan of this particular fantasy novel, “The Silver Prince and the Holy Bride.” As a “side character,” Loneal’s original role in the novel is considered unimportant and prone to getting in the way of the main characters’ romance.
To avoid disrupting the established storyline between Prince Alec, the hero, and Lily, the heroine (also known as the “Holy Bride”), Loneal goes to great lengths to steer clear of the prince. However, to Loneal’s surprise, Prince Alec becomes infatuated with him instead. The anime’s staff describes the unexpected twist, with Prince Alec expressing his long-held longing for Loneal and finding his “charming physique” to make up for any perceived lack of experience. This unexpected turn of events leads to Loneal melting into the prince’s arms, questioning why everything is so different from the novel’s original plot.
Original Japanese Release and Prior Announcements
The anime adaptation of Ao Yūki’s The Perfect Prince Loves Me, His Rival?! (Ateuma Chara no Kuse Shite, Spadali Ōji ni Chōai Sarete Imasu.) manga, on which the English dub is based, began streaming in Japan in March 2024. It later aired on Tokyo MX and BS11 in April 2024. Like many AnimeFesta productions, the anime has two versions: a censored “broadcast” version aired on television and a “premium” uncensored version distributed online.
OceanVeil, a new anime streaming platform by WWWave Corporation, previously announced in June that it would release the English dub of The Perfect Prince Loves Me, the Side Character?! this summer, alongside Adam’s Sweet Agony. Ascendent Animation is producing the English dubs for both titles. OceanVeil also launched in April 2025, with Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami as one of its first English dubbed original titles.
