The highly anticipated third season of the popular anime series Oshi no Ko is officially set to premiere in January 2026. This announcement comes alongside the revelation of two new cast members and a second teaser visual, unveiled during the “Oshi no Ko Kantō Nōryō Matsuri” event on Sunday.
The new video, a commemorative release for the second teaser visual, features the newly announced voice actors and their respective characters, offering fans an early glimpse into the upcoming season’s expanded ensemble.
New Voices Join the Star-Studded Cast
Adding to the already impressive vocal talent, two prominent voice actors have been confirmed to join Oshi no Ko Season 3:
- Yuto Takenaka as Shun Yoshizumi
- Yoji Ueda as Tetsu Urushibara
These new additions will lend their voices to characters crucial to the unfolding drama within the entertainment industry. While the specific roles of these characters in the overarching narrative are yet to be fully detailed, Shun Yoshizumi is noted to be a young assistant director, and the season is expected to introduce his VTuber sister, Mimi Yoshizumi. Previously announced new cast members also include Mamoru Miyano as Hikaru Kamiki and Hina Kino as Tsukuyomi, with Miyano expressing his honor at joining the series.
January 2026 Debut Confirmed
Fans can mark their calendars for January 2026, when Oshi no Ko Season 3 will begin broadcasting. This confirmation follows earlier teasers and visuals that hinted at a 2026 release, now solidified with a specific launch month. The anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account also shared the news, stating, “January 2026, story moves to a new stage___,” confirming the broadcast start.
Diving Deeper into the Mainstay Arc
Oshi no Ko Season 3 is slated to adapt the manga’s “Mainstay” story arc, which promises a deeper dive into Ruby Hoshino’s journey within the entertainment world. This arc will see Ruby appearing on a fictional web variety show called “Dig Deep! One Chance!” and further unraveling the mystery surrounding her mother Ai Hoshino’s murder. The season is also expected to cover the “Scandal Arc” and “Movie Arc,” continuing the narrative approximately half a year after the events of “POP IN 2.”
The previous two seasons aired in 2023 and 2024, with the first season running from April to June 2023 and the second from July to October 2024. The series has garnered significant attention since its debut, particularly for its unique blend of idol-industry glamour and dark, revenge-driven drama. The manga, written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, concluded its serialization in Weekly Young Jump in November 2024, having printed over 20 million copies.
Studio Doga Kobo, along with director Daisuke Hiramaki and character designer Kanna Hirayama, will return to helm the animation, ensuring continuity in the series’ distinctive visual style. The original Japanese voice cast, including Takeo Otsuka as Aqua Hoshino, Yurie Igoma as Ruby Hoshino, Megumi Han as Kana Arima, and Manaka Iwami as Akane Kurokawa, are also set to reprise their roles.
With the premiere date set and new cast members introduced, Oshi no Ko Season 3 is poised to continue its gripping exploration of the entertainment industry’s darker side.
