The announcement was made on Tuesday, November 4, a date playfully known as “Ii Oshiri no Hi” (“Nice Butt Day”) in Japan due to a phonetic wordplay on the Japanese pronunciation of 11/4, which also coincides with the Butt Detective character’s birthday.

The “Oshiri Dandy the Young” manga series delves into the adventurous exploits of Oshiri Tantei’s father, providing a prequel-like narrative to the main “Butt Detective” storyline. The manga initially launched in Shueisha’s Saikyō Jump magazine in 2020. The original story concept and supervision are credited to Troll, the creator of “Butt Detective,” with Robinson Haruhara handling the original story and composition. The eleventh compiled book volume of the manga is scheduled to ship on November 5.

The “Butt Detective” anime first premiered on NHK Educational with three episodes in May 2018, followed by a new series of seven episodes in July 2018.
