What is “Potion, Waga Mi o Tasukeru”?
Potion, Waga Mi o Tasukeru is a “light anime” series, which typically features a simpler animation style to reduce production time and costs. The story follows Kaede, an ordinary high school girl who suddenly finds herself transported to a mysterious fantasy world inhabited by beastmen, elves, and dragons. Among her belongings, she discovers a strange book that was not there before. This mysterious book grants her the ability to create potions simply by chanting the word “create.” Kaede must then rely on these potions to survive and navigate this new realm, all while hoping to one day return to Japan.
The original novel series by Akira Iwafune was serialized on the Japanese novel self-publishing website Shousetsuka ni Narou from April 2014 to September 2024. Japanese publisher Imagica Infos began publishing the print edition of the novel in April 2015, with ten volumes released to date. A manga adaptation by Sunaho Tobe, who also illustrated the light novel, launched in September 2023 and currently has 15 chapters.
