A new trailer for the highly anticipated Record of Ragnarok Season 3 anime has been unveiled, offering fans a glimpse of the upcoming battles and previewing its ending theme song, “Last breath, Last record,” performed by Saori Hayami. The new season is set to debut exclusively on Netflix in December 2025.
New Trailer Highlights Key Details
The latest trailer for Record of Ragnarok Season 3 confirms a December 2025 premiere on Netflix, with the announcement initially made during Anime NYC 2025 and Anime Expo 2025. The action-packed preview features the series’ signature intense one-on-one combat between gods and humans, confirming that the new season will once again showcase three pivotal battles. Warner Bros. Japan describes the new season as continuing the saga of 13 battles for humanity’s survival, specifically highlighting the “fateful seventh battle” to break the 3-3 tie between the gods and humans.
Saori Hayami Performs Ending Theme
The trailer prominently features the ending theme song for Season 3, titled “Last breath, Last record,” performed by acclaimed voice actress and artist Saori Hayami. Hayami, who celebrates her 10th anniversary as an artist with this song, also penned the lyrics herself, aiming to reflect the anime’s worldview. The single for “Last breath, Last record” is also slated for a December release.
Production Changes and Returning Music
Record of Ragnarok Season 3 will see a notable shift in its main production staff. Koichi Hatsumi (known for Tokyo Revengers) takes over as director from Masao Okubo. Yasuyuki Muto (also from Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway and Tokyo Revengers) is the new main writer, succeeding Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and Yuta Yamada. Character designs will now be handled by Yoko Tanabe and Hisashi Kawashima, replacing Masaki Sato.
The animation production will be undertaken by Yumeta Company and newcomer MARU Animation. Notably, Graphinica, which was involved in the animation for both previous seasons, is no longer listed in the production credits for Season 3. Yasuharu Takanashi, however, will be returning to compose the music, ensuring a consistent sonic landscape for the series.
Expanding Voice Cast for Epic Battles
The upcoming season will feature a robust voice cast, bringing the epic mythological and historical figures to life. Returning cast members include Kaito Ishikawa as Qin Shi Huang, Ryotaro Okiayu as Hades, Makoto Furukawa as Nikola Tesla, Daisuke Namikawa as Beelzebub, Hiroshi Shirokuma as King Leonidas, Kenichi Suzumura as Apollo, Miyuki Sawashiro as Brunhilde, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Göll, Wataru Takagi as Zeus, Hermes (Junichi Suwabe), and Ares (Hinata Tadokoro).
Additionally, new voice cast members have been announced, including Shiori Mikami as Alvitr, Misako Tomioka as Göndul, and Mai Toudoh as Geirölul, further expanding the roster of Valkyries and other key characters.
The Record of Ragnarok manga, written by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui with illustrations by Azychika, has been serialized in Monthly Comic Zenon since November 2017 and has sold over 18 million copies. The first season of the anime premiered on Netflix in June 2021, followed by the second season in two parts in January and July 2023.
