The recently unveiled second official trailer for Record of Ragnarok Season 3, showcased at events like Anime NYC 2025, provides a dynamic glimpse into the high-stakes tournament between gods and humanity. This season is expected to adapt several pivotal matchups from the manga, including the highly anticipated seventh battle, which serves as a tie-breaker, featuring Qin Shi Huang against Hades. The trailer also teases the eighth battle, pitting humanity’s scientific genius Nikola Tesla against the formidable Beelzebub, and offers a glimpse of the ninth fight between King Leonidas and Apollo.
A significant reveal in the trailer is the preview of the anime’s ending theme song, “Last breath, Last record,” performed by acclaimed voice actress and artist Saori Hayami.
Expanded Voice Cast Joins the Divine-Human Conflict
The new season is set to introduce a roster of fresh voices, further enriching the ensemble cast. Previously announced additions include:
- Makoto Furukawa as Nikola Tesla
- Daisuke Namikawa as Beelzebub
- Hiroshi Shirokuma as King Leonidas
- Kenichi Suzumura as Apollo
The latest update confirms even more talent joining the cast, with new Valkyrie roles:

These voice actors will lend their talents to the continuing saga where 13 chosen human representatives face off against 13 gods in a battle for humanity’s survival.
Saori Hayami Performs Emotional Ending Theme
The ending theme song for Record of Ragnarok Season 3, titled “Last breath, Last record,” will be performed by Saori Hayami. Hayami, who is celebrating her 10th anniversary as an artist this year, personally penned the lyrics for the song, aligning them with the anime’s intense worldview. The digital single for “Last breath, Last record” is also slated for a December 2025 release, coinciding with the anime’s premiere.
Hayami commented on the creation of the song, stating that she aimed to capture “the quiet tension when facing battle. The urge welling up deep within their chest. The determination to move forward no matter what the circumstances,” creating what she described as the “most intense song in my career.”
Production Staff Changes for the New Season
Record of Ragnarok Season 3 will see a refreshed production team behind the scenes. Koichi Hatsumi, known for his work on Tokyo Revengers, is taking over as director. Yasuyuki Mutō, also from Tokyo Revengers, is now the main writer. Character designs will be handled by Yōko Tanabe and Hisashi Kawashima. Yasuharu Takanashi will return to compose the music, ensuring continuity in the anime’s soundtrack. Animation production for this season will be a collaboration between Yumeta Company and MARU Animation, with Yumeta Company having supported previous seasons.
The anime is based on the popular manga series Record of Ragnarok (also known as Shūmatsu no Walküre), written by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui, and illustrated by Azychika, which began serialization in 2017. The previous seasons debuted in 2021 and 2023 respectively, with the second season being released in two parts.
