The upcoming anime adaptation of Yashiro and keepout’s light novel series, Reincarnated as a Neglected Noble: Raising My Baby Brother With Memories From My Past Life, has released its first official trailer, along with key visuals and details about the cast and production team. The series, also known as Shiro Buta Kizoku desu ga Zense no Kioku ga Haeta node Hiyoko na Otōto Sodatemasu, is set to premiere in July 2025, promising a unique blend of isekai fantasy with a focus on heartwarming sibling bonds.

Plot Synopsis: From Neglect to Nurturing

The story unfolds in the crumbling Kio Empire, where we meet Prince Ageha, a five-year-old boy abandoned by his parents and grappling with being overweight. Ageha, however, is no ordinary child; he retains memories of his previous life as a Japanese man. His life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters his younger half-brother, Regulus. A vision reveals that Regulus will one day kill him for the throne. Despite this grim premonition, Ageha decides to raise Regulus after their mother passes away. The narrative then explores how Ageha’s initial apprehension evolves into doting affection as he dedicates himself to his younger brother.

The narrative explores themes of reincarnation, family bonds, and overcoming destiny, all while set within a fantasy backdrop. The series is expected to deliver a blend of light-hearted moments and emotional depth as Ageha navigates his complicated relationships, as a neglected prince, and as a brother.

Cast and Characters: Voices Behind the Nobles

The anime adaptation features a talented cast bringing the characters to life:

  • Misaki Kuno will voice Ageha, the reincarnated prince with memories of his past life. Kuno is known for her roles in The Apothecary Diaries and The Ossan Newbie Adventurer.
  • Mariya Ise will voice Regulus, Ageha’s younger half-brother who is destined to kill him but is now being raised by him. Ise is recognized for her roles in Made in Abyss and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt.

These voice actors promise to capture the nuances of the characters, adding depth to the already complex dynamic between the two brothers.

Production Team: Behind the Scenes

The anime adaptation is being produced by Studio Comet, with the following key staff:

  • Masafumi Satō is directing the series. Satō has previously worked on Denki-Gai, Drugstore in Another World: The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist, and A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics.
  • Mitsutaka Hirota is writing the screenplay. Hirota’s past works include Rent-A-Girlfriend, Bibliophile Princess, and Tonbo!.
  • Tomoko Miyagawa is responsible for character design. Miyagawa has previously worked on Sweet Reincarnation.
  • Arisa Okehazama is composing the music.

This team brings a wealth of experience, suggesting the anime will be a high-quality adaptation.

Light Novel and Manga Origins

The original Reincarnated as a Neglected Noble light novel series is written by Yashiro and illustrated by keepout. It began serialization online in August 2018 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later acquired by TO Books, who have published twelve volumes since January 2020.

A manga adaptation with art by Yokowake has been serialized online via TO Books’ Nico Nico Seiga-based Comic Corona manga service since August 2020. As of now, there are five collected tankōbon volumes of the manga. MangaPlaza publishes an official English version of the manga.

Visuals and Promotional Material

Along with the trailer, a new key visual has been released, offering fans a glimpse of the anime’s style. Commemorative illustrations by both keepout and Yokowake have also been revealed. These visuals are being used to generate excitement for the series.

The promotional material emphasizes the unique art style and the charm of the main characters, showcasing the blend of fantasy and slice-of-life elements that fans can anticipate.

Where to Watch

The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan in July 2025. Details on international streaming platforms are yet to be announced, but it is likely to be available on popular services such as Crunchyroll. Fans worldwide are eagerly anticipating news about simulcast options.

A Unique Isekai Story

Reincarnated as a Neglected Noble sets itself apart from other isekai anime by focusing on the relationship between two brothers rather than just power struggles or romantic entanglements. The narrative’s core explores themes of family, destiny, and personal growth, presenting an intriguing mix of fantasy and heartwarming moments. The series follows Ageha, who initially views his younger brother, Regulus, as a threat but later grows to care for him deeply. This storyline is expected to resonate with a wide audience, offering more than just typical isekai tropes.

Conclusion

With its unique premise, talented cast, and experienced production team, Reincarnated as a Neglected Noble is poised to be one of the most anticipated anime series of 2025. The newly released trailer and visuals offer a promising glimpse into what is shaping up to be a memorable adaptation. Fans should stay tuned for more updates as the July premiere draws closer. The series is expected to make a significant impact in the isekai genre, focusing on the unique bond between brothers within a fantasy setting.
