The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Matsuura and keepout’s light novel series, “Reincarnated as the Daughter of the Legendary Hero and the Queen of Spirits” (Chichi wa Eiyū, Haha wa Seirei, Musume no Watashi wa Tenseisha.), is set to premiere on October 5, 2025, on Tokyo MX and other channels. A new main promotional video has been released, offering a deeper look into the series, along with announcements of additional cast members and the opening and ending theme songs.
Dive into the Spirit Realm with the Main Promotional Video
The newly released main promotional video provides an extensive preview of the anime’s world, characters, and animation by J.C. Staff. The trailer highlights the adorable yet incredibly powerful protagonist, Ellen, showcasing her elemental manipulation abilities and her interactions with her legendary hero father, Rovel, and spirit queen mother, Origin. Fans can anticipate a blend of action, heartfelt moments, and charm, emphasizing the “protect the family” theme central to the story.
Expanding the Cast of Characters
Joining the previously announced main cast, Masaaki Mizunaka and Shōya Chiba have been added to the voice ensemble. They will portray Laphisuel and Gadiel, respectively. Laphisuel is described as the crown prince of the Tembarl Kingdom, whom Ellen affectionately calls “Schemer” (Haraguro-san) due to his cunning nature in his pursuit to understand why the royal family can’t contract with spirits. Gadiel is Laphisuel’s son and the first prince of the Tembarl Kingdom, possessing a pure and polite personality unlike his father.
The main cast includes:
- Seria Fukagawa as Ellen. Ellen is an 8-year-old half-spirit who was reincarnated from modern-day Japan. She possesses a cheat skill that allows her to combine matter and alter structural arrangements.
- Kazuyuki Okitsu as Rovel. Rovel is Ellen’s father, a legendary hero who saved the kingdom and is proficient in both martial arts and spirit magic.
- Mai Nakahara as Origin. Origin is Ellen’s mother, the primordial queen and ruler of all spirits, and a goddess who can transform her surroundings into forests.
Creative Team and Animation Studio
The anime is being directed by Riki Fukushima (also known as Toshinori Fukushima) at J.C. Staff. Touko Machida is handling the series composition and scripts, while Mina Ōsawa is responsible for the character designs. Additional staff members include Si Man Wei as Art Director, Moe Sudo as Color Key Artist, Kabu Yoshinari as Compositing Director of Photography, Honami Yamagishi (REAL-T) for Editing, and Jin Aketagawa as Sound Director. Misaki Umase is composing the music, with Nippon Columbia in charge of music production.
Theme Songs Revealed
The opening and ending theme songs for the anime have also been announced. Kaho will perform the opening theme titled “Magic,” and Yui Nishio will sing the ending theme, “Family”.
The Story of Ellen: A Reincarnated Spirit’s Journey
The narrative follows Ellen, a young girl reincarnated from modern-day Japan into a fantasy world as a half-spirit. She is the daughter of Rovel, the legendary hero, and Origin, the queen of all spirits. Blessed with the ability to manipulate elements, Ellen utilizes her knowledge from her previous life and her powerful new magical abilities to protect her beloved family. The original light novel series by Matsuura, with illustrations by keepout, ran from 2016 to 2020, concluding with nine volumes. A manga adaptation by Yutaka Ohhori has been ongoing since 2018 and is published digitally in English by Square Enix’s Manga UP!.
