Renowned manga artist Rie Kanou is set to launch a new series titled “Snow Dome Town” (スノードームタウン) in Kodansha’s Morning magazine on October 2. The announcement came in the magazine’s 43rd issue, revealing that the upcoming installment will feature a color opening page.
Delving into the World of “Snow Dome Town”
“Snow Dome Town” introduces readers to Ako, a character who has spent their entire life in a secluded, snow-covered northern town. The narrative unfolds as Ako’s friend, Tako, enlists their help in crafting a novel centered around a snowy theme. This collaborative endeavor eventually leads the duo to embark on a journey to Tokyo to finalize their literary work. During their travels, they are poised to uncover hidden truths and challenge the perceptions they hold about their hometown.
Rie Kanou’s Acclaimed Career
Rie Kanou is an established figure in the manga industry, celebrated for her distinctive storytelling and artistic style. Her previous works include the highly regarded series “Slow Motion wo Mou Ichido” and “Kanojo wa Kyou mo Katazukanai”.

Kanou’s bibliography also features titles such as “Star Light Woman,” which was serialized in Futabasha’s Manga Action magazine from September 2013 to April 2014, with Crunchyroll publishing it digitally in English.
