HIDIVE has announced the official English dub cast for the television anime adaptation of Hiroshi Fukuda’s “Rock is a Lady’s Modesty” (Rock wa Lady no Tashinamideshite) manga, with the first dubbed episode slated to stream on September 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. EDT. Fans will also have an early opportunity to catch the premiere at this year’s Anime NYC event on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
Key English Voice Cast Revealed
The English dub features a talented lineup of voice actors bringing the rock-infused drama to life. Luci Christian leads the cast as Lilisa, with Natalie Rial voicing Otoha. Annie Wild takes on the role of Tamaki, while Karlii Hoch will portray Tina. Brittney Karbowski is cast as Aki, and Christina Kelly as Alice. Additional cast members include Courtney Lomelo as Civil, Alyssa Marek as Harumi, Shelley Calene-Black as the Headmistress, Skyler Sinclair as Hiyori, and Gaberiel Regojo as Ishitani. Synopsis of “Rock is a Lady’s Modesty”
The anime tells the story of Lilisa Suzunomiya, a young woman attending an elite all-girls’ academy. After her mother remarries a real estate tycoon, Lilisa is forced to abandon her passion for guitar and rock music to conform to the refined image expected at the school. However, her love for music is rekindled by sounds emanating from an old school building, where she encounters a skilled drummer who shares her dedication to rock. Together, they embrace their inner rockstars, navigating the elegant yet rebellious world of the academy. The original anime premiered in Japan on April 3 on TBS and 27 of its affiliate channels, with HIDIVE streaming the subtitled series as it aired.
English Dub Production Team
Overseeing the English adaptation, John Swasey serves as the ADR Director. The ADR script is penned by Marta Bechtol, with Brent Marshall handling the English mix and Patrick Marrero as the audio engineer. The anime itself was directed by Shinya Watada at BN Pictures, with Shogo Yasukawa in charge of series scripts and Risa Miyadani designing the characters.
