The Sakamoto Days anime adaptation has added two new voice actors to its roster, introducing Yasuhiro Mamiya as the voice of Boiled and Yumi Uchiyama as the voice of Obiguro. These new additions will make their debut in the fourth episode of the series, which premiered on February 1, 2025.

New Cast Members and Their Characters

The two new voice actors will be playing members of the Dondenkai assassin group, formidable opponents for the series’ main character, Taro Sakamoto.

Yasuhiro Mamiya as Boiled

Boiled is a “hard-boiled” assassin with a past connection to Sakamoto, stemming from their time at the same assassin training institution, the JCC. Boiled adheres to a strict code of only taking lives when necessary, focusing solely on the designated target. His fighting style heavily relies on explosive-based attacks. Mamiya, known for his roles as Gigantomachia in My Hero Academia and Magma in Dr. Stone, expressed his excitement about portraying Boiled, highlighting the character’s “hardboiled action with a touch of romance and sympathy.”

Yumi Uchiyama as Obiguro

Obiguro, also affiliated with Dondenkai, is Boiled’s combat partner. A master of Osatsu-ryu Karate, she has a brutal reputation, having reportedly killed over 100 people alongside Boiled in a past conflict. Uchiyama, famous for her role as Rudeus Greyrat in Mushoku Tensei, noted the charm of Obiguro’s character, particularly the contrast between her tough exterior and moments of innocent reactions.

Episode 4 Debut and Plot

Both characters made their first appearance in the fourth episode of the Sakamoto Days anime, which was released on February 1, 2025, on Netflix. The episode shows them confronting Sakamoto and his family at a theme park, promising plenty of action-packed sequences. The preview for episode 4 also hints at a new form for Sakamoto, suggesting he will be pushed to his limits in the coming confrontation.

Anime Production and Release Details

The Sakamoto Days anime, produced by TMS Entertainment, premiered on January 11, 2025. The anime is directed by Masaki Watanabe, with series composition by Taku Kishimoto and character designs by Yo Moriyama.

The first season of the anime is split into two parts, or “cours”. The first cour consists of 11 episodes, which started airing weekly on Saturdays, beginning January 11, 2025, and will continue through March 2025. The second cour is scheduled to air in July 2025.

Netflix streams the series globally with weekly episode releases, offering both English subtitles and an English dub.

About Sakamoto Days Manga

The Sakamoto Days manga, created by Yuto Suzuki, is serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. By December 2024, it had amassed over 7 million copies in circulation. Viz Media publishes an English-language version of the series.

The story follows Taro Sakamoto, a legendary assassin who has retired to live a peaceful life as a shopkeeper with his wife and child. However, his past continues to catch up to him, leading to a mix of action and comedy as he juggles his family life with his past as a feared assassin.
