Netflix has officially released an English-dubbed trailer for the second part of the Sakamoto Days anime, offering fans a thrilling preview of the highly anticipated JCC Exams Arc. The new footage, unveiled during Anime NYC 2025, highlights the intense challenges and new characters that protagonist Taro Sakamoto and his allies will face as they infiltrate a prestigious assassin academy.
The JCC Exams Arc Kicks Off
The Sakamoto Days anime, based on Yuto Suzuki’s popular manga, entered its second cour in July 2025. The JCC Transfer Exams Arc officially commenced with episode 17, which aired on August 18, 2025. This arc sees the former legendary hitman Taro Sakamoto, alongside his clairvoyant associate Shin Asakura and other allies, attempt to gain access to the Japan Cleaner’s Association (JCC) to gather crucial intelligence. Their primary objective is to investigate the mysterious return of Uzuki, also known as X or Slur, a formidable figure from Sakamoto’s past.
To achieve their goal, Sakamoto and Shin must pose as transfer students and undertake a series of perilous entrance examinations at the assassin training institution. The trailer teases these high-stakes tests, including a chaotic “kill-or-be-killed” scenario aboard an airplane, setting the tone for the arc’s action-packed narrative.
New English Dub Cast and Key Characters
The English trailer also provided a first listen to some of the prominent English voice actors bringing the characters to life for this arc. Matthew Mercer lends his voice to the titular Taro Sakamoto, while Dallas Liu takes on the role of Shin Asakura. Rosalie Chiang is cast as Lu Shaotang.
The JCC Exams Arc is set to introduce several compelling new characters to the anime’s roster. Notable additions include:
- Akira Akao: Rion Akao’s niece and a key participant in the entrance exams, whose skills will surprise Sakamoto and Shin.
- Nao Toramaru: A high school girl whose attire matches her designation.
- Joichiro Kaji: Another new character introduced in the arc.
- Shinaya: A character whose involvement promises to make the arc eventful.
The arc will also delve into the past of Rion Akao, a prodigious assassin who was once on par with Taro Sakamoto and Yoichi Nagumo, exploring how her history influences the current events.
