The highly anticipated second season of the Sasaki and Peeps anime has officially unveiled a brand-new key visual and confirmed its premiere window for 2026. The announcement builds on the excitement generated earlier this year, promising fans more magical adventures with the eccentric duo.
Fresh Look at Season 2: The New Visual
The newly released key visual for Sasaki and Peeps Season 2 offers a glimpse into the upcoming storyline, prominently featuring characters like Otonari-san and the recently introduced Abaddon. Abaddon made her debut in the climactic 12th and final episode of the first season, suggesting an expanded role in the continuing narrative. The visual art serves to heighten anticipation for the unfolding plotlines and character interactions in the next installment.
A Quick Recap: The Journey So Far
The first season of Sasaki and Peeps, animated by Studio SILVER LINK., captivated audiences with its unique blend of fantasy, slice-of-life, and interdimensional escapades. It aired for 12 episodes from January to March 2024. The immediate success and positive reception led to a swift announcement of a second season at AnimeJapan 2024, shortly after the first season’s finale. This early confirmation, accompanied by a teaser trailer featuring the opening song “FLY” by MADKID, signaled the production studio’s commitment to continuing Sasaki and Peeps’ story.
What is Sasaki and Peeps About?
The Sasaki and Peeps series centers on Sasaki, a middle-aged Japanese salaryman who finds his mundane corporate life lacking excitement. His life takes an unexpected turn when he adopts a small bird he names Peeps, only to discover that his new companion is actually Piercarlo, a powerful sage reincarnated from a parallel world. Peeps bestows Sasaki with supernatural powers and the ability to travel between his modern world and a fantasy realm.
Sasaki’s initial desire for a peaceful, comfortable life with his newfound powers is quickly complicated by a colorful cast of characters and unfolding events. He becomes entangled with an organization of psychics in his own world, battling “Irregulars,” while simultaneously navigating a looming war in the parallel world. The series blends elements of isekai, magical realism, and fantasy adventure as Sasaki attempts to balance his two increasingly complex lives.
Production Team and Voice Cast
The first season was directed by Mirai Minato, known for his work on Masamune-kun’s Revenge, at studio SILVER LINK.. Deko Akao (from Komi Can’t Communicate fame) handled the series scripts, and Saori Nakashiki was responsible for character designs. It is expected that much of the core production staff will return for the second season.
The main voice cast includes:
- Tomokazu Sugita as Sasaki
- Aoi Yūki as Peeps (Pii-chan)
- Akari Kitō as Otonari-san (Next-Door Neighbor)
- Rie Takahashi as Hoshizaki
- Mutsumi Tamura joins the cast for Season 2 as Abaddon

The light novels have garnered critical acclaim, winning awards in the 2022 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! guidebook.
A manga adaptation by Pureji Osho also began serialization in 2021. Both the light novels and the manga are licensed and released in English by Yen Press.
