Peeps bestows Sasaki with supernatural powers and the ability to travel between his modern world and a fantasy realm.
Sasaki’s initial desire for a peaceful, comfortable life with his newfound powers is quickly complicated by a colorful cast of characters and unfolding events. He becomes entangled with an organization of psychics in his own world, battling “Irregulars,” while simultaneously navigating a looming war in the parallel world. Origin Story: Light Novels and Manga
The anime adaptation is based on the popular light novel series written by Buncololi and illustrated by Kantoku. The series originally began as a web novel in December 2018 on platforms like Kakuyomu and Shosetsuka ni Naro, before being officially published as a light novel series by Media Factory’s MF Bunko J imprint starting in January 2021. The light novels have garnered critical acclaim, winning awards in the 2022 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! guidebook.
A manga adaptation by Pureji Osho also began serialization in 2021. Both the light novels and the manga are licensed and released in English by Yen Press.
