The popular television anime series, I Left My A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths!, has officially been greenlit for a second season. The announcement arrived shortly after the conclusion of its first season, which aired its final episode on June 29, 2025.
The initial season of I Left My A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths! spanned two consecutive cours, comprising a total of 24 episodes. It originally premiered in Japan on January 12, 2025. BN Pictures was responsible for the animation production of the first season. Katsumi Ono directed the series, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu overseeing and writing the series scripts. Masakazu Yamazaki handled the character designs and served as a chief animation director. To celebrate the news of the second season, a special illustration drawn by character designer Masakazu Yamazaki was shared on the show’s official Twitter/X account.
The anime adaptation is based on the light novel series penned by Kosuke Unagi and illustrated by Super Zombie. The light novel series, which began its serialization as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro in October 2020, concluded in February 2025, with Kodansha publishing a total of five volumes under its K Ranobe Books label. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Yuri, also began in June 2021, and Kodansha USA releases the manga digitally in North America.
The series follows the journey of Yuke, a red mage who, after five years, decides to leave his A-rank party, Thunder Pike, due to constant insults and ridicule from its members. In his search for a new party, Yuke encounters his former students, Marina, Silk, and Rain. He joins their party, Clover, and begins to lead them, leveraging his extraordinary magic and skills to help the girls fully develop their own abilities. The party’s adventures gain notoriety through an artifact known as Camelot, leading them to gradually become entangled in a world-threatening chaos as they pursue their dream of conquering Achromatic Darkness, the most challenging dungeon.
While the second season has been officially announced, specific details regarding its release date or a production window have not yet been confirmed. It also remains unconfirmed whether the original staff will return for the second season. Crunchyroll has been streaming the anime as it airs and also provides an English dub.
