What’s the Story About?
Secrets of the Silent Witch revolves around Monica Everett, a prodigious mage known as the “Silent Witch”. She is celebrated as a hero for single-handedly defeating a legendary black dragon. Monica is the only mage in the world capable of using unchanted magic. However, behind her formidable reputation lies a secret: Monica is incredibly shy and suffers from social anxiety. She learned to cast spells silently to avoid speaking in public.
The story kicks off when Monica is assigned a top-secret mission by the Seven Sages. She must infiltrate Serendia Academy and protect the Second Prince, Felix Arc Ridill, from potential threats. As she navigates her mission, Monica must confront both the external dangers targeting the prince and her own crippling shyness.

From Light Novel to Anime
Secrets of the Silent Witch began as a web novel series on Shōsetsuka ni Narō from February to October 2020. It was later acquired by Fujimi Shobo, who began publishing it under their Kadokawa Books imprint in June 2021. As of February 2025, the series has nine volumes and a short story collection.
A manga adaptation, illustrated by Tobi Tana, began serialization on Enterbrain’s B’s Log Comic manga website in July 2021. Yen Press has licensed both the light novel and manga series for English publication.
A two-volume prequel light novel series, titled Silent Witch -another- Rising of the Barrier Mage, was published from December 2023 to April 2024. Yen Press also announced that they licensed the prequel for English publication.
