Seven Seas Entertainment has announced the acquisition of the light novel series “The Devil Princess” and six new manga titles, adding to their ever-growing catalog of translated Japanese works. This latest announcement includes a mix of genres, from the supernatural to boys’ love, and showcases the publisher’s commitment to providing diverse content to its readers.

The Devil Princess: A Demon’s Journey to the Human World

The highlight of this licensing round is undoubtedly “The Devil Princess,” a light novel series written by Biyori Harunohi and illustrated by Geso Umiu. Published under Seven Seas’ Airship imprint, the story follows a demon named Yulucia who yearns for the human world.

A Rebirth and a Secret

Yulucia’s desire for a brighter world leads her to defy her dark origins. She tears through a summoning gate and is reborn as a human baby in the Holy Kingdom of Talitelud. The second prince welcomes her as a blessing, unaware that she is a devil in disguise. Now revered as the prophesied Saint, Yulucia hides her demonic hunger beneath an innocent facade.

Balancing Humanity and Darkness

The series will explore the challenges Yulucia faces as she tries to balance her love for humanity with the darkness that still resides within her. As dangerous schemes unfold and whispers about her true nature spread, she must navigate a precarious path. The shadows of her past are never far behind, nor is her hunger.

The first volume of “The Devil Princess” is scheduled for release in English in August 2025, priced at $15.99 in the USA and $19.99 in Canada. The series will be available in single-volume editions through the Airship imprint, with ebook versions also accessible on digital platforms. This new series comes from the author of The Otome Heroine’s Fight for Survival.

Six New Manga Titles Join the Seven Seas Lineup

In addition to “The Devil Princess,” Seven Seas has also licensed six new manga series, broadening its selection across various genres. Here’s a look at the newly licensed manga:

Wimpy Demon King and Tsundere Hero

This manga series by Haruo Natsuno falls under the Boys’ Love category. It tells the story of Prince Ike, who disguises himself as a woman to get closer to the Demon King. However, he discovers the Demon King is not the fearsome figure he expected but rather a huge wimp. The manga will be released in English in November 2025, available in a large-trim paperback edition under the Seven Seas BL label.

I’m the Heroic Knight of an Intergalactic Empire!

Written by Yomu Mishima and illustrated by Ju Ishiguchi and Nadare Takamine, this series offers a mix of action and fantasy. The first volume is set to release in English in November 2025.

Don’t Hold Back, Lord Hades

This series will be released under the Steamship Imprint, which focuses on mature content. The first volume is set to release in English in October 2025.

Ripples in the River

This is another Boys’ Love title, further expanding Seven Seas’ collection of titles in this genre. The first volume of this manga series is set to release in English in September 2025.

Let Me See the Real You, Senpai!

This is a Boys’ Love manga by Yuho Okita. The story revolves around a shy shut-in VTuber and his interactions with a newcomer. This mature-rated manga is set to be released in English in October 2025.

Grand Metal Organs

This action-packed, horror-filled manga by Koyu Shiki explores a world where human evolution has taken a monstrous turn. It is set to release in English in September 2025.

Seven Seas Entertainment: A Leader in Manga and Light Novel Publishing

Seven Seas Entertainment, established in 2004, has become a key player in bringing Japanese manga and light novels to English-speaking audiences. Headed by Jason DeAngelis, the company has not only published licensed manga and light novels but also ventured into webcomics, danmei (Chinese boys’ love novels), and original comics. They have won the Harvey Award for Best Manga for their English version of My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness in 2018.

Imprints and Distribution

Seven Seas utilizes various imprints to categorize their diverse offerings, including Airship for light novels and Japanese prose, Ghost Ship for mature titles, and Steamship for more adult content. All of their print books are distributed worldwide by Penguin Random House Publisher Services.

Commitment to Diverse Content

Seven Seas’ recent licensing announcements, which include danmei novels and manhua adaptations, highlight their commitment to diverse content. They have also partnered with J-Novel Club to release their licensed properties in print and have launched new audiobook adaptations, further expanding the availability of their content.

What to Expect

These recent licensing announcements show Seven Seas Entertainment’s continued dedication to providing a wide array of manga and light novels to English-speaking audiences. “The Devil Princess” light novel is particularly anticipated, given its unique premise and intriguing characters. The addition of the six new manga series further solidifies Seven Seas’ position as a go-to publisher for fans of Japanese media. The release dates spread throughout the rest of 2025 mean fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming months. With a mix of fantasy, romance, and mature content, these titles are poised to capture the attention of a broad readership, further establishing Seven Seas Entertainment’s position as a key player in the manga and light novel industry.
