The manga adaptation of Natsu Hyūga’s You Can’t Bluff the Sharp-Eyed Sister (also known as Seijo ni Uso wa Tsūjinai), illustrated by Yo Asami, concluded its current serialization in the August issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine, released on July 4. However, fans will not have to wait long, as a new series is slated to begin “sometime soon,” with further details regarding its return to be announced in the magazine’s subsequent issue.
Overview of the Manga
You Can’t Bluff the Sharp-Eyed Sister follows Chloe, a seemingly prim and naive novice at a countryside church who, by night, is a skilled card shark. Her extraordinary perception and memory, which allow her to win big at gambling, lead a handsome young holy knight named Heraldo to believe she possesses a rare magical “Gift.” He enlists her help to infiltrate the royal palace as a “Lady Saint candidate” and solve a two-year-old murder threatening the stability of the kingdom. Unbeknownst to Heraldo, Chloe’s prowess stems from her sharp wit and keen observational skills rather than any supernatural ability. The narrative blends elements of fantasy and mystery, offering an investigation-focused story with humorous interactions between the protagonists.
Publication and English Release
Yo Asami launched the manga in Monthly Shonen Magazine in March 2023. Kodansha has published four compiled book volumes in Japan as of February 2025, with the fifth volume set for release on September 17, 2025.
For English-speaking audiences, Kodansha USA is publishing the manga, with the first volume scheduled to be released on October 21, 2025. The manga is also available digitally through K Manga, with new chapters typically updating around the 5th of each month. The series is an adaptation of a light novel by Natsu Hyūga, the author known for The Apothecary Diaries.
