Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods: A Divine Slice-of-Life Awaits
The Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods (Japanese: Kami no Niwatsuki Kusunoki-teini) TV anime is based on the popular light novel series written by Enju and illustrated by ox. The story centers around Minato Kusunoki, who finds himself in charge of a rural house that was once overrun by evil spirits. After his extraordinary ability clears the spirits out, a procession of unique and peculiar gods is drawn to the purified Kusunoki residence. Minato then spends his days relaxing in the company of his new spiritual neighbors.
The original light novel series began serialization on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in April 2021 before being acquired by ASCII Media Works for publication under their Dengeki no Shin Bungei imprint. As of July 2025, ten volumes of the light novel have been released in Japan. Yen Press licenses the light novels in North America, with the third volume scheduled for release on November 11, 2025. A manga adaptation illustrated by Akira Anzai also began serialization in November 2021 on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker website.
The anime adaptation was officially announced on July 14, 2025, with a teaser visual released to commemorate the news. Fans can look forward to seeing the tranquil, divine life of the Kusunoki household unfold when the series premieres in 2026.
