Shonen Jump+, Shueisha’s popular digital manga platform, has launched its “1-Shot Summer Festival,” an extensive series of 12 special one-shot manga from creators who have previously serialized their works on the platform. The festival, which began on August 18 and runs daily until August 28, is a cornerstone of the platform’s 10th-anniversary celebrations, which officially mark a decade in September 2024. All one-shots are also being released simultaneously in English on Shueisha’s Manga Plus service.
A Decade of Digital Manga Innovation
Launched on September 22, 2014, Shonen Jump+ quickly established itself as a significant player in the manga industry, offering original titles alongside digital editions of Weekly Shōnen Jump. Over the past decade, it has become home to numerous globally popular series, including Chainsaw Man, Spy × Family, Kaiju No. 8, and Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku. The platform has also been noted for its comparatively laxer editorial restrictions around explicit content compared to Weekly Shōnen Jump, fostering a diverse range of creative works.
