This sneak peek offers viewers an early look at the adaptation of the popular fantasy story, providing a glimpse into the animation style and initial narrative. The preview primarily features protagonist Monica Everett and Annie, along with a surprise appearance from Louis.
New Cast Member Joins
Ai Kayano has been announced as a new cast member, voicing the character Claudia, often referred to as the “walking library”. This adds to an already extensive cast, which includes Saya Aizawa as the protagonist Monica Everett, Hitomi Nabatame as Nero, Junichi Suwabe as Louis Miller, and many others. Other previously announced cast members include Yoshiki Nakajima as Cyril Ashley, Ryōhei Kimura as Elliott Howard, Yuki Sakakihara as Neil Clay Maywood, and Yōko Hikasa as Bridget Greyham.
Opening Song Information
The opening theme song for “Silent Witch” is titled “Feel,” performed by the alternative rock band hitsujibungaku. The song is scheduled to be available for streaming in Japan starting July 4, 2025, coinciding with the anime’s premiere. Hitsujibungaku will also be performing the ending theme song, “mild days”.
Anime Production and Story
The “Silent Witch” anime is an adaptation of the light novel series Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto (Secrets of the Silent Witch). Yen Press publishes the English versions of the light novels and the manga adaptation. The story centers on Monica Everett, known as the “Silent Witch,” the world’s sole practitioner of Voiceless Magic and a heroine who once fended off the Black Dragon. Despite her formidable magical abilities, Monica is extremely shy and learned voiceless magic to avoid public speaking. She is tasked with a top-secret mission to guard the Second Prince, Felix Arc Ridill, at Serendia Academy, a prestigious boarding school for aristocrats.
The anime is being produced by Studio Gokumi, with Takaomi Kanasaki serving as chief director, screenwriter, and script supervisor, and Yasuo Iwamoto as director. Cona Nitanda is responsible for character designs. The music is composed by Cygames and Rina Tayama. The series will air on channels such as Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11 in Japan, and will also be streamed worldwide on Crunchyroll.
