Aniplex has released the initial three minutes of footage for the highly anticipated “Silent Witch” anime adaptation. This sneak peek provides fans with an early glimpse into the series, which is set to premiere on July 4, 2025, in Japan. The anime will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll worldwide.
Adding to the growing anticipation, a new cast member has been announced: Ai Kayano will be lending her voice to the character Claudia. Claudia is described as a “walking library”.
Furthermore, details regarding the opening theme song have been revealed. The alternative rock band hitsujibungaku is performing the opening theme, titled “Feel”. This song is scheduled to begin streaming in Japan on July 4, 2025. Hitsujibungaku will also perform the ending theme song, “mild days”.
The “Silent Witch” anime is based on the light novel series Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto by Matsuri Isora and Nanna Fujimi. Yen Press publishes the English language versions of the light novels and manga adaptation under the title Secrets of the Silent Witch. The story follows Monica Everett, known as the Silent Witch, a powerful mage who can use voiceless magic. Despite her legendary abilities, Monica is extremely shy and learned voiceless magic to avoid speaking in public. She is tasked with the secret mission of guarding the Second Prince.
Yasuo Iwamoto is directing the anime at Studio Gokumi, with Takaomi Kanasaki serving as chief director, series composition writer, and script supervisor. Cona Nitanda is responsible for character designs, and Cygames along with Rina Tayama are composing the music.
