The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Matsuri Isora and Nanna Fujimi’s Silent Witch (also known as Secrets of the Silent Witch) light novel series has recently revealed a three-minute preview of its first episode, introduced a new cast member, and provided details on its opening theme song. The series is set to premiere on July 4, 2025, in Japan, with Crunchyroll confirmed to stream the series worldwide.
First Three Minutes and Plot Synopsis
Aniplex released the initial three minutes of the anime’s first episode during a livestream event. This sneak peek offers viewers an early glimpse into the world of Monica Everett, the titular “Silent Witch.” The first episode’s synopsis reveals that Monica, one of the Seven Sages and an extremely shy individual, lives in seclusion until Louis Miller, another member of the Seven Sages, visits her with a request. Louis tasks Monica with secretly escorting the second prince, Felix Arc Ridill, who attends Serendia Academy, a prestigious boarding school. Despite Monica’s initial reluctance due to her extreme shyness, she accepts the mission. Monica is renowned as the world’s sole practitioner of “Voiceless Magic,” a skill she developed primarily to avoid public speaking due to her introverted nature.
New Cast Member Introduced
Voice actress Ai Kayano has joined the cast of Silent Witch, lending her voice to the character Claudia. Claudia is described as a “walking library.” This announcement adds to an already established cast that includes Saya Aizawa as Monica Everett, Hitomi Nabatame as Nero, Junichi Suwabe as Louis Miller, Atsumi Tanezaki as Isabelle Norton, Shōgo Sakata as Felix Arc Ridill, Kanna Nakamura as Lana Colette, and Yoshiki Nakajima as Cyril Ashley. Other notable cast members include Ryōhei Kimura as Elliott Howard, Yuki Sakakihara as Neil Clay Maywood, Yōko Hikasa as Bridget Greyham, M.A.O as Rynzbelfeid, and Hina Sugita as Casey Grove. Additionally, Shunichi Toki is cast as an unnamed “mysterious man.”
Opening Theme Song Details
The opening theme song for Silent Witch is titled “Feel” and is performed by the alternative rock band hitsujibungaku. The song is scheduled to be available for streaming in Japan starting July 4, 2025. hitsujibungaku will also perform the ending theme song, titled “mild days.”
The anime adaptation is being produced by Studio Gokumi, with Takaomi Kanasaki serving as chief director, screenwriter, and script supervisor, and Yasuo Iwamoto as the director. Cona Nitanda is responsible for character designs, and Cygames and Rina Tayama are composing the music.
