“Solo Camping for Two”: Theme Songs Revealed!

The upcoming TV anime adaptation of Yūdai Debata’s heartwarming manga, “Solo Camping for Two” (Futari Solo Camp), has unveiled its theme song artists and a brand-new promotional video. Fans can now get a taste of the music that will accompany Gen and Shizuku’s camping adventures, as well as a glimpse into the series’ overall feel.

Theme Song Artists Announced

The anime’s official website revealed that Skirt will perform the opening theme song, titled “Akari wa Tōku” (The Light is Far Away). Meanwhile, singer Masayoshi Ōishi will collaborate with SPECIAL OTHERS for the ending theme song, “Futari Camp feat. SPECIAL OTHERS.” Both songs are previewed in the newly released third promotional video.

Third Promo Video Released

The third promotional video offers a deeper look into the anime, showcasing the budding relationship between Gen Kinokura, a seasoned solo camper, and Shizuku Kusano, a complete novice to the world of camping. The video highlights the stunning visuals and the serene atmosphere of the series, perfectly capturing the essence of the manga.

What is “Solo Camping for Two” About?

“Solo Camping for Two” tells the story of Gen Kinokura, a 34-year-old man who cherishes his solitary camping trips as a way to escape the stresses of everyday life. He enjoys the peace and quiet of nature and prefers to keep to himself. However, his tranquil routine is disrupted when he encounters Shizuku Kusano, a 20-year-old woman who is entirely new to camping.

Shizuku is ill-prepared and overwhelmed by her first camping experience. Initially, Gen wants to send her home, but Shizuku is determined to learn the ropes and asks him to teach her the art of solo camping. Reluctantly, Gen agrees, and the two embark on a series of camping trips where they experience nature together, yet still maintain a sense of independence.

Premiere Date and Streaming Information

The “Solo Camping for Two” anime is scheduled to premiere on July 10, 2025, on Tokyo MX. It will also air on BS Asahi on July 11 and Yomiuri TV on July 15.

For international viewers, Crunchyroll will be streaming the series as it airs in Japan. This will allow fans worldwide to follow Gen and Shizuku’s camping escapades.

Meet the Characters

  • Gen Kinokura: Voiced by Daiki Hamano, Gen is a 34-year-old experienced solo camper who treasures his alone time in nature. He is initially resistant to the idea of camping with someone else but gradually warms up to Shizuku.
  • Shizuku Kusano: Voiced by Mizuki Niizaki, Shizuku is a 20-year-old camping beginner who is eager to learn. She is energetic and enthusiastic, and her presence shakes up Gen’s solitary camping style.
  • Akihito Takigawa: Voiced by Yohei Azakami, Akihito is Gen’s friend from high school.
  • Saya Ozora: Voiced by Saya Aizawa, Saya is Shizuku’s friend.
  • Mizuki Hino: Voiced by Yuna Nemoto.

Production Staff

The anime is being directed by Jun Hatori at SynergySP. The series scripts are being overseen by Aya Satsuki, who is also co-writing them with Mitsuho Seta and Ōka Tanisaki. Tomomi Shimazaki is designing the characters, and Shōta Kowashi is composing the music.

Manga Background

“Solo Camping for Two” is written and illustrated by Yudai Debata. It debuted in Kodansha’s seinen manga magazine Evening in October 2018 under the title Hitori, Yaei Nite Omofu (独り、野営にて思ふ). The series continued in Morning on December 14, 2023. Kodansha has collected its chapters into individual tankōbon volumes, with 20 volumes released as of April 23, 2025.

Live-Action Drama Adaptation

Before the anime adaptation, “Solo Camping for Two” was adapted into a live-action television drama, which aired from January 9 to February 27, 2025, on Tokyo MX. The drama was directed by Takashi Ninomiya and Katsutoshi Hirabayashi, with scripts written by Ayako Kitagawa.

Popularity

The manga has been serialized since October 2018 and has over 3 million copies in circulation, which shows the popularity of the “Solo Camping for Two” series.
