Yūki Imada, known for works like Mini4King, has launched a new Sonic the Hedgehog manga series. The manga debuted in the June issue of Shogakukan’s Monthly CoroCoro Comic magazine with a story called Sonic to Yūki no Tsurugi. However, Imada is also known for the Shadow the Hedgehog manga, which recently concluded in February 2025.

Yūki Imada is a manga artist known for their work on various series, including Mini4King, which they created with Hiroyuki Takei. Imada’s art style is recognizable, and they have contributed to several Sonic the Hedgehog projects.
Shadow the Hedgehog Manga
In September 2024, Yūki Imada launched a Shadow the Hedgehog manga in Monthly Coro Coro Comics. This series, titled Shikkoku no Harinezumi: Shadow the Hedgehog, focuses on Shadow, a popular character in the Sonic franchise. The manga explores Shadow’s backstory and adventures. The final chapter of the Shadow the Hedgehog manga was published in February 2025, and a compiled book volume is set to release in April.
Sonic x Shadow: Tokyo Mission – Episode 0
Yūki Imada also created Sonic x Shadow: Tokyo Mission – Episode 0. This manga served as a prequel to the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 film and was distributed to moviegoers in Japan starting in December 2024. The story sets the stage for the confrontation between Sonic and Shadow in the film.

In addition to the film and manga, IDW Publishing released a one-shot comic for Shadow in March 2025, titled Sonic the Hedgehog: Chasing Shadows #1. Written by Kiel Phegley, with art by Jonathan Gray, the comic delves into Shadow’s character.
