Veteran Japanese rock band SPITZ will perform the opening theme song, titled “Hi o Mamoru” (灯を護る; lit. ‘Protect the Light’), for the upcoming third season of the popular Spy×Family anime series. The announcement was made on Sunday, September 28, 2025, alongside the release of a non-credit opening sequence revealing the new track. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first time SPITZ has specifically created a song for a television anime.
The highly anticipated Spy×Family Season 3 is slated to premiere on October 4, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. JST on TV Tokyo and other affiliated networks. Fans outside of Asia will be able to stream the new season on Crunchyroll.
A New Sonic Identity for the Forger Family’s Return
SPITZ’s involvement introduces a fresh musical tone for the next chapter of Loid, Yor, and Anya Forger’s espionage-comedy adventures. The band’s distinctive sound is expected to resonate with both long-time fans of Spy×Family and their dedicated following.
