Fans of the Spy x Family anime can now get a closer look at the intense “Bus Hijacking Arc” with the release of a new trailer. The highly anticipated arc is a key part of the ongoing third season, which premiered on October 4, 2025.
Anya Forger at the Center of the Crisis: The Red Circus Arc
The new video highlights the dramatic events of what is also known as the “Red Circus Arc,” which commenced with episode 6 of the current season. This storyline plunges Anya Forger and her classmates into peril when their school bus is hijacked by the terrorist group known as the Red Circus.
The arc is expected to be a significant narrative point, showcasing Anya’s unique telepathic abilities in a high-stakes environment without the direct, overt intervention of her formidable parents, Loid and Yor Forger. Manga readers are familiar with the tension and character development that this arc brings, as Anya, alongside Damian Desmond and other Eden Academy students, must navigate a dangerous hostage situation.

The World of Spy x Family
For those new to the series, Spy x Family is set in a fictional world reminiscent of post-Cold War Europe, primarily in the city of Berlint. The story revolves around Twilight, a master spy from Westalis, who adopts the alias Loid Forger to undertake “Operation Strix.” His mission requires him to create a fake family to infiltrate an elite school and get close to a key political figure, Donovan Desmond, to maintain peace between rival nations Westalis and Ostania.
Unbeknownst to Loid, his adopted daughter Anya is a telepath, and his wife Yor is a deadly assassin known as the “Thorn Princess.” Even their family dog, Bond, possesses precognitive abilities. The series expertly blends espionage, action, and heartwarming comedic family dynamics as each member works to keep their true identities secret while unwittingly forming genuine bonds. The “Bus Hijacking Arc” promises to bring a darker, more intense tone to the series, exploring themes of war and trauma, particularly through the lens of Loid Forger’s past.
