The Narrative of Seasons and Guardians
The overarching narrative of “Agents of the Four Seasons” delves into a world where seasons are brought forth by special agents. The first part of the story, which the anime adapts, focuses on the disappearance of Hinagiku, the Agent of Spring, ten years prior, causing spring to vanish from the land. Her loyal bodyguard, Sakura Himedaka, has tirelessly searched for her. The story begins with Hinagiku’s unexpected return, setting the stage for their emotional journey of loss and renewal as they endeavor to restore spring to its rightful place.
The original light novel series, illustrated by Suoh, began publication in April 2021 under ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint, with eight volumes released as of December 2024. Yen Press has licensed the light novel series for English publication. A manga adaptation of the first part, illustrated by Nappa Komatsuka, has also been ongoing in LaLa magazine since July 2022. While the summer visual and video have been revealed, specific details regarding the anime’s release date and full cast are yet to be announced.
