Suzu Akeko’s manga adaptation of Sora Hinokage’s popular novel series, “Inchiki Seijo to Iwareta node, Kuni wo Dete Nonbiri Kurasou to Omoimasu” (They’re Calling Me a Faint Saintess, so I’ll Leave the Kingdom and Live an Easygoing Life), officially concluded its serialization on the Mag Comi website on October 7. The final, sixth compiled volume, which retailers are listing as the series’ “finale,” is slated for release on December 10 and will feature an exclusive “Another Ending” story.
The Journey of the “Faint Saintess”
The manga, which began its serialization on the Mag Comi website in January 2022, brought to life the story of Fremea, a centennial saint of the Eustitea Kingdom. Fremea’s life takes a dramatic turn when she is falsely accused by court conspirators of being a “false saint.” This accusation leads to her banishment, opening the door for her to pursue a more peaceful and “easygoing life” away from the kingdom’s intrigues. The narrative explores themes of false accusations, resilience, and the pursuit of personal freedom.
Creative Team Behind the Adaptation
The manga adaptation was illustrated by Suzu Akeko, known for their engaging artwork that captured the essence of Sora Hinokage’s original web novel. Hinokage initially launched the story as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in July 2020. Earth Star Entertainment later published the novel series with illustrations by Chum, with the second novel volume shipping in November 2021. Akeko’s artistic interpretation successfully translated the beloved light novel into the manga format, garnering a dedicated readership during its run.
The conclusion marks the end of Fremea’s illustrated journey, with fans eagerly anticipating the sixth and final volume to experience the complete story and the promised additional ending.
