The ongoing anime series Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho has announced additional voice cast members and new theme song artists as it transitions into its “Bakumatsu” story arc, commencing with episode 14 on July 15, 2025.
Expanding the Ensemble: New Voice Talent
For the highly anticipated “Bakumatsu” arc, three prominent voice actors will join the cast. Toshihiko Seki, known for his role as Mousse in Ranma 1/2, will portray Yasuhide Hatakeyama. Kenichiro Matsuda, who voiced Batou in Ghost in the Shell: Arise, steps in as Tsuchiura. Lastly, Kazuya Nakai, recognized for his work as Ryuji Suguro in Blue Exorcist, will lend his voice to Kiichi Okada.
These additions follow earlier casting announcements for the series, which included Kentaro Kumagai as Kiyomasa and Haruka Shamoto as Chitose. The main cast features Taku Yashiro as Jinta, Reina Ueda as Suzune, and Saori Hayami as Shirayuki.
The English dub of Sword of the Demon Hunter has also revealed its cast, with Aaron Campbell voicing Jinta/Jinya, Donna Bella Litton as Byakuya, and Juliet Simmons as Suzune. Other English dub cast members include Chaney Moore as Young Jinta, Shanae’a Moore as Shirayuki, Alyssa Marek as Miyaka, Luis Galindo as Chieftan, Kristen McGuire as Chitose, Molly Searcy as Foresight Demon, John Gremillion as Jyuuzou, Jeremy Gee as Kiyomasa, and Sean Patrick Judge as Motoharu.
Fresh Melodies: New Theme Song Artists
The “Bakumatsu” arc will introduce a new set of theme songs to accompany the unfolding narrative. The opening theme, titled “Ash,” will be performed by the Japanese rock band [Alexandros]. The ending theme for the arc, “Enrin,” will be provided by FAKE TYPE.
Previously, the anime’s opening theme was “Continue” by the band NEE. The initial ending theme, “Senya Ichiya feat. Izumi Nakasone (HY),” was performed by Hilcrhyme.
Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho, based on Motoo Nakanishi’s novel series, premiered on March 31, 2025, with HIDIVE simulcasting the series. The anime is produced by Yokohama Animation Lab, with Kazuya Aiura directing and Deko Akao overseeing the series scripts.
