New Adventures in Sylvania

Hirotoshi Kobayashi, known for his work on Sylvanian Families: The Movie, will oversee the scripts and co-write them with returning writer Momoka Toyoda and new addition Chisato Matsuda. Asaka Narita is serving as the CG director, while Yuichi “masa” Nonaka returns as the musical composer and Takumi Kodama directs the sound at HEAD OFF.
Several key voice actors will reprise their roles, including Aya Yamane as Freya Chocolate, Saya Tanaka as Lyla Persian, Madoka Murakami as Ralph Walnut, and Misaki Watada as Creme Chocolate. The new series will also introduce two new characters, Theo Chocolate, voiced by Natsumi Haruse, and Noa Chocolate, voiced by Megu Umezawa.
A Rich Animation History
The Sylvanian Families franchise, first created by Japanese company Epoch in 1985, has a long history of animated adaptations worldwide. While the “third 3D CG anime” in the user’s prompt likely refers to the latest installment in a recent continuity with a consistent cast and studio, the brand has seen numerous CGI projects over the years.
Previous 3D CG anime series include:
- A 2007 3DCG Original Video Animation (OVA) series.
- Sylvanian Families Mini-Stories, a 12-episode series that aired in 2017, followed by second and third seasons in 2018 and 2019.
- A new anime series that premiered in October 2022.
- Sylvanian Families Freya no Go for Dream!, a full 3DCG anime that premiered on July 6, 2023.
- Sylvanian Families Freya no Piece of Secret, which premiered in November 2024.
The franchise also saw its first anime film, Gekijōban Sylvanian Families: Freya Kara no Okurimono (Sylvanian Families: The Movie: A Gift From Freya), open in Japan in November 2023. The upcoming Sylvanian Families: Freya’s Wonder Days continues this rich animated tradition, promising new stories and charm for fans of all ages.
